Ornate escutcheons were used on doors of wealthy homes where a key is inserted to lock it, such as this one, taken from a derelict manor house in Italy.  This escutcheon conjures images of a secret passage which once held the key.

Whimsical escutcheons are original to Melinda Mulcahy, sculpted in precious .999 Fine Silver.

Tactile and weighty each escutcheon measures approx 27mm x 18mm. Oxidised finish for vintage effect.

Sold as a pendant on long necklace, you can customise with choice of finishing touches or perhaps add an ancient scroll (as shown in picture).
